Day 1 : will pick you up from your hotel in Hurghada to enjoy a day tour to the Temple of Kom Ombo. It is different from other temples by two entrances. Each of them is dedicated to the god of fertility and creator of the world Sobek and the falcon-headed god Haroeris, or ancient Horus. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. Then we will take you to Edfu to visit the majestic Temple of Horus, considered by many the best preserved cult temple in Egypt. According to Egyptian myths, it was the place where the falcon-headed god Horus revenged the murder of his father Osiris by killing Seth. After visiting the temple we will go to Aswan where you will take lunch at a local restourant, check in at a 4-star hotel, have your dinner and then some free time. Day 2 : We will pick you up from your hotel in Aswan to Abu Simbel where you will enjoy the two Temples of Abu Simbel with their unique style, which are considered to be the masterpieces of Ancient Egypt. They reflect the glory and grandeur of the New Kingdom. The first Temple of Ramses II is dedicated to four universal gods: Ptah, Re-Her-Akhtey, Amun-Re and Ramses II himself. The second Temple of Queen Nefertari is also called the Temple of Hathor, who was the God of Sun’s wife. The great temple of Abu Simbel is also called the Sun Temple of Ramses II. Thus in a symbolic way, the two Temples of Ramsses II and ofNefertari bring them, Hathor and the God of Sun together as one. back to Aswan , you will visit the High Dam of Aswan, an engineering miracle, built in the 1960s. From the top of the High Dam, you will see a wonderful panorama across Lake Nasser to Kalabsha Temple in the south and a huge power station to the north. Continue to the Unfinished Obelisk in the granite quarries of Aswan where much of the red granite used for ancient temples and colossi came from. The Unfinished Obelisk still lies where it was carved when a crack was discovered while being hewn from the rock. Your qualified Egyptologist guide will explain how the 1-tonne obelisk was carved, and why the crack caused it to be abandoned. After that we will take a break and have a delicious lunch in a restaurant. The last of the three famous Aswan sites you will see are generally regarded as the best. Philae Temple was carefully moved to its current location (around 500 metres from the original site) when the construction of the High Dam caused the Nile waters to rise. A short motorboat ride will take you on the island for a walking tour to see the famous Philae Temple before giving you some free time to explore further on your own. Dedicated to the goddess Isis, Philae Temple has a beautiful setting in the river, which had been landscaped to match its original site. In the end, we will take you back to your hotels in Hurghada.
